Light is a source of both UV radiation and heat, and heat could cause the books to warp over time as temp & humidity fluctuates between exposure and shade (this is more a concern with the leather books, but any paper object will suffer from these fluctuations).
I don't think morning light is really going to. Darkening or Fading-When book covers are exposed to light, the color darkens or becomes more intense. See also tape shadow.
